The Board of Directors of the Air Cadet League of Canada, British Columbia Provincial Committee is pleased to announce the election of our new President, Andrew King.

Andrew King was born and raised in Fredericton, NB. While a youth he joined Air Cadets at 333 Lord Beaverbrook Squadron. While at cadets, Mr. King found a passion for the band program and a love of drill. After graduating from cadets, he returned to 333 RCACS as a civilian volunteer and shortly thereafter found himself as a CIC Officer.

During Mr. King’s time as an officer, he was the Commanding Officer of 777 RCACS in Port Coquitlam, 835 RCACS in Squamish and 861 RCACS in Abbotsford. Mr. King had the pleasure of working at various Cadet Training Centres for a total of 12 summers in rolls varying from being an Officer Cadet Flight Commander to being a Major in the role of Officer Commanding a Training Group. In 2022, Andrew decided to realign his involvement with the Air Cadet Program by joining the British Columbia Provincial Committee of the Air Cadet League of Canada as a League Representative.

Mr. King has been the league representative for 746 RCACS in Langley, 767 RCACS in Surrey, 888 RCACS in Vancouver, 135 RCACS in Vancouver, 787 RCACS in Mackenzie, 396 RCACS in Prince George, 899 RCACS in Vanderhoof, and 747 RCACS in Terrace. In addition to being a league representative, Andrew was the Wing Chair for the Northern Wing and Group Chair for the Interior Area, BCPC Provincial Coordinator for Effective Speaking and sat on the Board of Directors as a Director for the Air Cadet League of Canada, British Columbia Provincial Committee.

Andrew was the Vice President of the British Columbia Provincial Committee overseeing Administration functions and his responsibilities as a director included being the Squadron Liaison between the Regional Cadet Support Unit Pacific and the League which includes providing support and advice to the league representatives, wing chairs and group chairs, and as the Secretary Treasurer.

In his personal life, Andrew works for Norco Modular Buildings, Fort Modular Inc. and Point-Blank Installations as the Human Resources Manager for the three companies. Currently, he resides in the Westend of Vancouver with his partner and while not at work or a cadet function, Andrew enjoys spoiling his “goodest boy” Reggie (a 6-year-old Weimaraner Hound).

Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. Congratulations Andrew on your appointment!
