The Air Cadet League of Canada, British Columbia Provincial Committee (BCPC) is a non-profit organization committed to the Air Cadet youth program. We operate within a partnership agreement between the Department of National Defence and The Air Cadet League of Canada (ACL), a civilian volunteer organization. BCPC is administered by a ten-member Board of Directors and two full time office personnel, working together to support 57 Air Cadet squadrons in British Columbia.

Job Summary:

The Financial and Administration Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day management of all financial and League compliance requirements of the BCPC organization. Serves as a key point of contact on accounting matters with Treasurer.


  • AP, AR, GST, WCB remittances and other regular routines
  • Bank and GL account reconciliations.
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Prepare reports, returns, and other documents as required, including monthly and annual financial statements
  • Prepare trial balance of books
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for bi-monthly payroll
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • Records management both manual and digital
  • Administrative duties including answering telephone and electronic enquiries, incoming mail, filing, and other duties as required
  • Provide administrative support including generation of reports, presentations, policies and general correspondence documents.
  • Assist with program support when required

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience with an accounting software program, preferably Sage 50 Pro
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an office environment
  • Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and how to record various types of journal entries
  • Excellent knowledge and experience working with computer databases and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently without supervision
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Ability to respect confidentiality
  • Ability to adhere to inter-office policies and procedures


  • Experience with non-profit societies
  • Knowledge in Society ACT & Guidelines
